Wenn dieses Verhalten mit Outlook 2002 unter Windows Vista auftritt, haben Sie keine Möglichkeit, mit Outlook- bzw. Window-eigenen Mitteln das Problem zu beseitigen. Wenn Sie dieses Problem mit Outlook 2007 haben, das auf Windows Vista installiert ist, dürfte der Artikel Es ist nicht möglich, die Passwörter der E-Mail-Konten dauerhaft zu speichern, wenn Sie Outlook 2007 unter Windows Vista verwenden helfen.

Outlook 2010 hingegen bringt diese Option von Haus aus mit. Allerdings gibt es hierfür – für mich völlig unverständlich – keine Option, die man aktivieren bzw. deaktivieren könnte. Wie so oft ist ein Eintrag in die Windows-Registrierung nötig.

Öffnen Sie den Registrierungseditor, navigieren Sie zum Schlüssel

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook

und legen Sie dort, falls noch nicht vorhanden, einen neuen Unterschlüssel namens Options an (falls die Unterschlüssel Office und weitere ebenfalls noch nicht existieren, diese ebenfalls anlegen [siehe Screenshot]).

Im Schlüssel Options erstellen Sie dann einen DWORD-Wert namens ForceAccountSelection und weisen ihm den Wert 1 zu.

Wenn Sie nun eine neue E-Mail erstellen, erscheint neben dem Von-Feld der Hinweis, dass eine Adresse ausgewählt werden müsse (siehe Screenshot).

Um nun das Shutdown-Verhalten wieder auf das von Outlook 2007 SP2 zurückzusetzen, ist ein Eingriff in die Windows-Registry notwendig. Öffnen Sie den Registrierungseditor von Windows und navigieren Sie zum Schlüssel

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Microsoft.OutlookBackup.1

Erstellen Sie dort einen DWORD-Wert mit dem Namen RequireShutdownNotification und weisen ihm den Wert 1 zu.

Wenn Sie nicht selbst Hand anlegen wollen, können Sie zum Erstellen des Wertes alternativ das kostenlos erhältliche Tool Add-In-Manager verwenden. Gehen Sie dazu wie folgt vor:

1. Starten Sie das Tool
2. Markieren Sie den Eintrag für das Backup-Add-In
3. Klicken Sie oben auf den runden Button mit dem +-Zeichen.

Um diese Größenbeschränkung zu umgehen, muss ein Registrywert gesetzt werden. Öffnen Sie dazu den Registryeditor von Windows und navigieren zum Schlüssel 

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Preferences

Erstellen Sie dort einen DWORD-Wert namens MaximumAttachmentSize und weisen ihm den Wert in Kilobyte (KB) zu, der ab sofort als neues Maximum für zu versendende Anhänge gelten soll. Wenn Sie die Größenbeschränkung komplett deaktivieren wollen, tragen Sie einfach eine 0 ein.

Nach einem Neustart von Outlook können Anhänge nun wieder beliebig groß sein.

Hinweis: Die Server der allermeisten E-Mail-Provider verfügen ebenfalls über ein Größenlimit, sodass es trotzdem nicht möglich ist, E-Mails zu verschicken, die dieses (serverseitige) Limit überschreiten.
